Subhasmita Ghadei, born; 1998 in Kendujhar, Odisha, Subhasmita is a contemporary artist with a strong foundation in painting. After completing a Bachelor's degree in Painting from BK Art and Craft College in Bhubaneswar, Subhasmita developed a unique artistic voice that intertwines cultural heritage with personal expression. Central to their work is the concept of weaving, a motif that reflects both the rich traditions of Odisha and the complexities of modern identity. This theme also resonates with feminist ideals, exploring themes of connection, empowerment, and the intricate threads that bind women’s experiences across time and space. Her art seeks to honor and interrogate these connections, combining vibrant color palettes with intricate, symbolic forms. Through their work, they aim to challenge perceptions, create dialogues, and reflect the nuanced intersections of culture, gender, and personal history.
