Rachana Bhadrakiya
Artist's Biography
Rachana Badrakia, born on May 7, 1982, in Ahmedabad, is a distinguished practicing artist with an extensive background in painting and printmaking. She pursued her Post Diploma in Printmaking from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda (2010). Prior to this, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Gujarat University, 2008 and a Diploma in Drawing & Painting from Sheth C.N. College of Fine Arts, Ahmedabad, in 2004. Throughout her career, Rachana has engaged in several artist residencies - Kalakriti Art Gallery in 2016. “Arts for All”, Sanskriti Kendra New Delhi, Feb 2015. “Kala Darshan” organized by CEH Hyderabad at IIT BHU, Banaras, June 2014 .She has also conducted art workshops, including a Lithography Workshop at Kanoria Centre for Arts, Ahmedabad, and participated in various art camps, most recently the 2024 camp in Jammu organized by Anupa Mehta Art Advisory, Mumbai. Rachana’s commitment to community art practices is reflected in her involvement with artist community studios in Baroda and Ahmedabad, such as Vis-à-vis Artists Studio and Space Artists Studio. Currently, she lives and practices art in Vadodara, continuing her journey as a dedicated and evolving artist in India’s contemporary art scene. Her works represent an intricate blend of technical expertise and creative exploration, contributing significantly to the field of Visual Art in India.
